<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <database toolboxdatabasetype="Metadata-log" wrap="986" toolboxversion="1.6.3 Jan 2018" toolboxwrite="export"> <fn_soundGroup> <fn_sound>aa Final name of the .wav file</fn_sound> <fn_trans>aa Final name of the transcription file</fn_trans> <uid>aa The UID is a unique identification number. It is sometimes the date of the actual recording (yyyy-mm-dd) followed by a hyphen and letter, a-z (in the event that several recordings were made on the same day). At other times the UID is the date of entry of the record into the database, and still other times it is an arbitrary ID (still in the form yyyy-mm-dd-[letter]). Note that the UID should not be taken to indicate anything but a somewhat arbitrary code for unique identification. The "date" format was chosen as it offers no chance of repetition.</uid> <filepast>aa In this field are put all past names of the .wav and associated files. This is done to ensure that any mention of or material that was given a name of the documentary .wav file that may have subsequently changed is still linked to the same recording. For example, the recorder often assigns an ID (e.g., GC_1038.wav) to the recording. It might be that the file was shared (with this name) but the wav file later changed. The \filepast field ensures that all material related to a given recording is discoverable.</filepast> <folder>aa This is the location of the file in the folder structure used by JD Amith. Obviously an archive will change this, but it helps locate material for the researchers.</folder> <duration>aa This is the duration of the file in minutes and seconds. Format is mmm:ss</duration> <size>aa This is the size of the wav file in kb</size> <wordcount>aa This is the size of the transcription in word count.</wordcount> <encyxref>aa Links to specific words in the lexicon: headword and UID; multiple links separated by semicolon.</encyxref> <languageGroup> <language>aa This is the general term (e.g., Mixtec, Nahuatl) for the language of the record.</language> <lg_var>aa This is a descriptive term for the language, further defining it.
